The challenge for this year’s competition required teams to collect and stack totes onto designated scoring platforms. Teams could also place pool noodles, referred to as “litter,” inside recycling containers and then position those containers on top of stacked totes to earn additional points. The game also included a cooperation element; a term commonly used in the FIRST competition. Through this feature, teams from opposing alliances could work together by stacking their totes on a central step that divided the field. If both alliances successfully contributed to the stack, each alliance was awarded twenty points.
